We can also make and supply seating (see wiggly bench picture) , storytelling chairs, sculptures, mushrooms and much more.

We offer handmade timber playground structures for playgrounds, such as caterpillars, snails, and all manner of seating and play equipment for children.

Don't Forget to Take Your Shade Sails down!

You may not know this, but you can take our shade sails down.  We are one of the few companies who supply and install non-permanent shade sails. When we install our shade sails we use stainless steel fixings so that you can take the shade sails down easily and store them safely in the winter.

Once the summer has gone, you can take down the shade sails, clean them and store them ready for next year's sun.  We also strongly recommend that you take down the shade sails when extreme weather has been forecast.

Shade Sails Specialise in MAINTENANCE FREE Timber Posts

Shade Sails Ltd only use high-grade timber posts specifically produced for schools and nurseries. These posts are carefully selected FSC accredited timber supplied from well-managed, sustainable forests.  So not only are our posts more environmentally friendly, but they also look great in a rural environment, conservation area or any playground.

Our posts are "Greenguard" certified, undergoing rigorous testing to meet the stringent standards for low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions.

They are also guaranteed not to crack above 8mm - ROSPA guidelines state that cracks should not exceed 10mm.

The timber posts are treated in strict accordance with British Standards BS8147. They are kiln-dried to minimise the moisture content, then an environmentally-friendly solution is used to protect them against wood boring insects and fungal infestation and it contains NO chrome nor arsenic. The posts require NO FURTHER TREATMENT.

That is why we offer a 15 year "service life" guarantee against rot, fungal decay and wood boring insects.

Our Shade Sails Fabric

When choosing the correct Shade Sail fabric, it is imperative to consider the UV Protection the fabric offers. Some companies state that fabric such as Acrylic or PVC is "UV resistant" - this simply means the fabric will not deteriorate from the sun's harmful rays.

Our fabric is manufactured from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) - a very strong and stable knitted fabric which is Rachel-knitted to ensure the material will not unravel when it is cut.

Our fabric contains UV additives providing up to 96% protection against harmful UV rays and up to 95% shade protection.

We offer a wide choice of colours -  vibrant primary (LEFT- one of our new additions "Atomic Orange") to tranquil tones to suit your surroundings. Visit our website to see our range of colours and the UV and shade protection each colour offers:    www.shadesails.co.uk/colourchart.html
